“The elements have no heart”: a new brand package from the Ministry of Emergency Situations

– Does the element have a heart?
- No! The elements have no heart!
Childhood trauma remains an important social problem. Children are very inquisitive and try to actively explore the world around them. But at the same time, they still have few everyday skills, and they do not always know how to assess the danger of a situation. Often the decisive factor in the occurrence of emergency incidents with children is the lack of control on the part of adults. In order to once again draw the attention of parents to the existing social problem, employees of the Research Institute of Fire Safety and Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus developed the brand package “The Elements Have No Heart.”
To influence the formation of a responsible attitude of parents towards the safety of children, to draw attention to the problem of child deaths in fires and reservoirs is the main goal of a large-scale project, thematic billboards which will be located in the vicinity of settlements throughout the country this summer in August.
Many parents underestimate or even ignore the risks of many potentially dangerous situations. In this case, in order to accurately reach the most indifferent, the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers act, as always, unconventionally, using the most direct and clear communication. At the same time, visual communication does not scare away at all, but on the contrary, breaking through the wall of indifference of parents, it makes them think about the safety of their children!
At the same time, the key idea to show, through symbols understandable to everyone - a children's toy and a heart, what dangers await children at the mercy of the elements when their parents leave them unattended, is captivating and arouses genuine interest among the target audience. In the developed visual communication, the role of the child is taken by the “teddy bear”, and the symbol of life is personified by the “heart”. The strong and reliable hands of a rescuer symbolize saving a child’s life, warning parents against careless mistakes in the future.
As you know, any element cannot show compassion towards a person, because it does not have a heart. It is this semantic message that lies in the capacious slogan: “THE ELEMENT HAS NO HEART.” This phrase fully demonstrates the possible consequences of an irresponsible attitude towards the safety of children.
It must be said that the success of the project depends on an integrated approach, therefore, in order to draw the attention of adults to the safety of children, leaflets with useful information will fill the Internet space and update stands in all public places of the country.
Children were not left out, teaching them the rules of safe behavior is an important component for increasing the level of life safety culture in the future. The brochure “Safe Student Calendar” with interesting tasks will help not only to plan the tasks of primary school students for the whole school year, but also to consolidate the acquired knowledge on life safety in an accessible form, and to remember the number of the rescuer call in the thematic schedule of classes .
In this way, rescuers want to reach every parent - to urge them not to leave their children unattended, to be close to the child in order to prevent a possible tragedy and teach him safety rules.
