REMINDER. Vaccination against COVID-19

REMINDER. VACCINATION AGAINST COVID-19

Your good health is our main goal!

Combined vector vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus – "Gam-COVID-Vac".

Vaccination is carried out to persons over the age of 18, including those who have had a coronavirus infection, 3-6 months after recovery without a preliminary serological examination.

There are temporary contraindications:

  • acute infectious and non-infectious diseases;
  • exacerbation of chronic diseases;
  • contact with a patient with COVID-19 or with a suspicion of this disease less than 14 days before vaccination (vaccination is carried out after 14 days from the moment of contact);
  • If there was an acute infection between 1st and 2nd vaccine administration, the second component should be administered at an interval of 21 days or as soon as possible after recovery from the acute infection.

After recovery from an acute infection or the onset of remission, vaccination is carried out after 2-4 weeks. In case of mild ARVI, acute infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, vaccination is allowed after the temperature normalization.

There are permanent contraindications for vaccination:

  • hypersensitivity (anaphylactic reactions in anamnesis) to components of the vaccine or vaccines containing similar components;
  • severe post-vaccination complications (anaphylactic shock, severe generalized allergic reactions, convulsive syndrome, temperature above 40°С, etc.) for the administration of component I of the vaccine;
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding period;
  • the age up to 18 years.

Vaccination of people with immunodeficiency diseases and diseases in which immunosuppressive therapy is performed (oncological, autoimmune diseases). The safety and efficiency of the vaccine in these groups of people have not been studied. Therefore, the vaccination question (benefit / risk) should be decided by the immunological commission.

Before vaccination, it is necessary to:

  • undergo a medical examination by a specialist (with measurement of body temperature, collection of an epidemiological anamnesis, measurement of saturation, examination of the throat). The specialist determines the absence and (or) the presence of contraindications to vaccination according to the examination result;
  • complete written informed consent to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Vaccination is carried out in two stages: at the first stage component I is administered at a dose of 0.5 ml. The drug is injected intramuscularly into the upper third of the shoulder. On day 21, component II is administered at a dose of 0.5 ml. The drug is injected intramuscularly into the upper third of the shoulder.

We ask you to stay at the healthcare facility within 30 minutes after vaccination to prevent possible allergic reactions and post-vaccination complications.

Short-term general (a short-term flu-like syndrome characterized by chills, fever, arthralgia, myalgia, asthenia, general malaise, headache) and local (soreness at the injection site, hyperemia, swelling) reactions can develop in the first or second days after vaccination. They are resolved within three consecutive days.

Nausea, dyspepsia, decreased appetite, sometimes an increase in regional lymph nodes are noted less often. Development of allergic reactions is possible.

It is recommended to avoid wetting the injection site, trips to the bathhouse (sauna), excessive physical exertion and drinking alcohol within 3 days after vaccination.

Take antihistamines (suprastin, fenkarol, loratadine) in case of redness, swelling, soreness of the vaccination site.

If the body temperature rises after vaccination, take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (paracetamol, nimesulide, etc.).

The COVID-19 vaccine does not replace the need for the vaccinated patient to wear masks and gloves and maintain social (physical) distance.
