On June 14, 2021, the Republic of Belarus traditionally celebrates World Blood Donor Day. The blood service expresses gratitude to people who voluntarily and gratuitously donate blood to save human lives and aims to draw public attention to the need for participation in regular voluntary donation.

The slogan of World Blood Donor Day 2021 is “Donate blood, let life pulsate in the world”.

The main goals of the campaign were determined by the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO):

  • expressing gratitude to blood donors and raising awareness of the need to donate blood regularly and free of charge;

  • instilling the social value of blood donation by strengthening general solidarity and social cohesion;

  • encouraging young people to respond to the humane call to donate blood and encourage others to follow this example;

  • recognizing the potential of youth as partners in health affairs.
